This year we’re trying something new… Alongside the regular Ethno magic, we’ve got an exciting new project – Folkatron. An Ethno-style camp for sound engineers and producers, participants will be working side by side with Ethno musicians on parallel projects, collaborating with the Ethno camp on some elements, and bringing down cross-genre boundaries as well as cultural borders! And of course, Ethno and Folkatron will come together as one big family for meals and social activities!
2 years after the referendum, and 9 months
before Brexit might become a reality, we want to take the Ethno band around the British Isles in celebration of global culture, welcome and exchange, showing the UK what global culture can bring and showing visitors that there is still a warm welcome for you here!
We’re still working on it, so this might not happen, but if you want the possibility of joining, don’t book your ticket home just yet and keep that extra week free for now..!
10 days, 15 musicians, 30+ hours of jamming, 2.5 gigs, 1 festival, 1 encore and 1 standing ovation – Ethno England 2017 was incredible! Check out some of the music we made!
Ethno England is produced in partnership with Oxford City Council.
